The story of the women at the well in the gospel of John has always been a challenge to me. Jesus declared, “I will give you water and you will never thirst again” and yet I hear so many prayers “Lord I am thirsty”.
This lady came to the well with a bucket to draw water and Jesus engages her in conversation something that was not acceptable culturally. His opening statement was “can you help me?” and yet He knew all her problems. He promises her a “spring of living water” and notice this water flowed from inside her out not outside in!
Further on in the gospel of John, Jesus declares, “out of your belly will flow living water”. So what are we to do? Well Paul and Silas were in prison and they found that the answer was to make a sound that attracts heaven. They began to sing and the prison doors opened and their chains came loose so why not try singing?
